TOP242YN General Description

The TOP242YN is a monolithic switcher IC for offline power supplies. It is designed to convert line voltage input (85-265VAC) to a regulated output voltage. The device integrates a 700V power MOSFET, PWM controller, high voltage startup circuit, current limit, thermal shutdown, and other control functions into a single IC package.The TOP242YN operates in a flyback topology and can provide output power up to 40W with excellent efficiency. It uses primary-side regulation (PSR) to control the output voltage without the need for an optocoupler or secondary feedback circuitry. This simplifies the design, reduces component count, and improves system reliability.The device offers a wide input voltage range, adjustable output voltage, and a high level of integration to minimize external components. It also features built-in frequency jittering for improved EMI performance and low standby power consumption.The TOP242YN is housed in a compact 7-pin PDIP package which makes it suitable for space-constrained applications. It is widely used in various consumer electronics, household appliances, LED lighting, and industrial power supplies.

It is fully working. It comes with arduino bootloader preloaded. Everything seems fine as of now. The only down side is that the board is not cleaned after beeing broken away from others after manufacturing. This means that the edges are quiet rough and sharp, but nothing that sandpaper wouldnt fix.
