TIP132 General Description
The TIP132 is a silicon Epitaxial-Base NPN power transistor in monolithic Darlington configuration, mounted in Jedec TO-220 plastic package. It is intented for use in power linear and switching applications. The complementary PNP type is TIP137. Also TIP135 is a PNP type.
Key Features
- Transistor Type: NPN Darlington
- Maximum Collector-Emitter Voltage: 100V
- Maximum Collector-Base Voltage: 100V
- Maximum Emitter-Base Voltage: 5V
- Collector Current: 5A
- Power Dissipation: 40W
- DC Current Gain (hFE): 1000 (min) at IC = 3A, VCE = 4V
- Package Type: TO-220
Application
The TIP132 is commonly used in applications such as power supply control, motor control, lamp drivers, and general-purpose high-current switching. Its Darlington configuration provides high current amplification and allows the transistor to be driven by low-current control signals.
