FOD817ASD General Description

The FOD817ASD is an optocoupler developed by Fairchild Semiconductor. It is a high-speed phototransistor optically coupled to a gallium arsenide infrared-emitting diode. This device is designed for use in high-speed isolation applications, where electrical isolation is needed to prevent noise, voltage spikes, or ground loop issues.The FOD817ASD has a typical rise time of 6 microseconds and a fall time of 10 microseconds, making it suitable for high-speed signal transmission. It has a minimum isolation voltage of 3750 Vrms, providing reliable isolation between input and output circuits.This optocoupler can be used in a variety of applications, including digital logic isolation, motor control, power supply feedback control, and communications interfaces. It is housed in a 4-pin dual in-line package (DIP) for easy mounting on a circuit board.
