The PCA9517DP,118 is a dual bidirectional I2C bus and SMBus buffer with an integrated hot-swap circuit for two different voltage supplies. This device is designed to buffer both the SDA and SCL lines on I2C bus systems in applications where there is a need for buffering multiple devices. The PCA9517DP,118 features a voltage-level shifting function that allows the device to interface with two different voltage supplies (up to 5.5V on one side and up to 2.7V on the other side). This is particularly useful when connecting I2C devices with different voltage requirements on the same bus.It also includes an integrated hot-swap circuit that limits inrush current, protecting the devices on the bus from potential damage during power-up and power-down events. The PCA9517DP,118 is compatible with both SMBus and I2C protocols, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.Additional features of the PCA9517DP,118 include a low standby current consumption, open-drain I2C bus compatibility, and ESD protection up to 6KV. The device is offered in a TSSOP-8 package and operates over a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
