LS7084N General Description

The LS7084N is a Quadrature Clock Converter/Counter Interface IC. It is designed to interface incremental encoders with microprocessors to provide real-time position information. The LS7084N features a 32-bit binary I/O with clock, direction, and up/down signals. It can operate in quadrature, non-quadrature, or auxiliary modes, making it versatile for various encoder applications. The device has a built-in power-on clear function to ensure accurate initialization upon startup.This IC has a maximum clock frequency of 20MHz, allowing for fast and precise counting of pulses from the encoder. It also has a low power consumption of 10mA, making it suitable for battery-powered applications.The LS7084N is housed in a 24-pin PDIP package, making it easy to integrate into existing designs. It operates over a wide temperature range from -40°C to 85°C, ensuring reliability in diverse environmental conditions.
