One of the key features of the DS12887A+ is its countdown timer, which can be configured in either binary or BCD format. Additionally, the chip includes an alarm interrupt output and a programmable square wave output, adding to its versatility. With battery backup support for the clock and nonvolatile registers, users can rest assured that their data will remain intact even in the event of a power loss
